NSPAC – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings for the National Safer Practice Awareness Course (NSPAC), provided by NSPAC Ltd. By making a booking, you agree to these terms. Where a booking is made on behalf of another person, the person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that the participant is aware of the relevant course requirements.
1. Bookings and payment
Places are subject to availability and are not confirmed until the booking process has been completed and payment has been received, unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed with NSPAC in advance.
The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate, including the participant's name and contact details.
Where an organisation is unable to pay online because of its purchasing or procurement procedures, it should contact NSPAC before making the booking to discuss alternative arrangements.
2. Course suitability
NSPAC is a professional awareness and learning course for adults who work or volunteer with children and young people.
NSPAC reserves the right to contact a participant or the person making the booking where further information is needed to establish whether the course is appropriate. In exceptional circumstances, NSPAC may decline or cancel a booking where attendance would not be appropriate.
NSPAC is not a substitute for individual safeguarding advice, supervision, legal advice, disciplinary processes or specialist support.
3. Cancellation, rescheduling and substitutions
NSPAC courses are delivered live in small groups, and places are limited. The following arrangements are designed to be fair, proportionate and clear.
For bookings made more than seven days before the course date, cancellation or rescheduling is permitted with at least seven days' notice. In these circumstances, the booking may be transferred to a future course date or a suitable substitute may be nominated by the same organisation.
Where cancellation occurs within seven days of the course date, or where a booking is made within seven days of the course, the fee will normally be retained. Substitution may still be permitted, subject to suitability and notification in advance.
Substitutions must be from the same organisation and meet the course eligibility criteria. Substitutions are not permitted once a course has commenced.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply to the booking.
4. Cancellation or changes by NSPAC
Occasionally, NSPAC may need to cancel, reschedule or make reasonable changes to a course because of circumstances such as facilitator illness, technical difficulties or insufficient participant numbers.
Where NSPAC cancels a course, participants will be offered a place on an alternative date or a full refund of the course fee. NSPAC cannot reimburse additional expenses incurred in connection with attending the course, except where required by law.
5. Attendance and participation
NSPAC is a live and interactive course. Participants are expected to attend the full session and engage appropriately with the learning activities and discussions.
Participants should join promptly and remain for the duration of the course. Where a participant misses a significant part of the session, NSPAC may be unable to confirm successful attendance.
6. Confidentiality and respectful participation
Participants must not share identifiable or identifying information about children, families, colleagues or other individuals during the course.
Participants are expected to contribute respectfully and to help maintain a safe and professional learning environment. Information or experiences shared by other participants should be treated sensitively and confidentially.
NSPAC reserves the right to remove a participant from a session where their behaviour is seriously disruptive, inappropriate or compromises the safety or confidentiality of others. A refund would not normally be provided in these circumstances.
7. Recording and course materials
NSPAC sessions must not be audio-recorded, video-recorded, photographed or otherwise captured without prior written permission from NSPAC.
Course materials, slides, exercises and other resources provided by NSPAC remain the intellectual property of NSPAC Ltd or their respective rights holders. Materials provided for personal professional development may not be reproduced, distributed, published, adapted or used to deliver training to others without permission.
8. Technology
Participants are responsible for having suitable internet access, equipment and audio/video capability to participate in the online course.
NSPAC will take reasonable steps to provide a reliable online service but cannot be responsible for technical problems arising from a participant's own equipment, internet connection or IT systems.
Participants experiencing difficulties should contact NSPAC as soon as reasonably possible.
9. Attendance confirmation
Where applicable, confirmation of attendance will only be provided where NSPAC is satisfied that the participant has attended and participated sufficiently in the course.
Attendance confirmation does not constitute a professional qualification, accreditation or assessment of an individual's competence or suitability to work with children.
10. Course content
NSPAC course content is provided for professional learning and awareness purposes. Safeguarding guidance, legislation and local procedures may change, and participants remain responsible for following the current requirements and procedures applicable to their role and organisation.
11. Privacy
Personal information provided in connection with a booking will be handled in accordance with the NSPAC Privacy Notice.
Where a booking is made on behalf of another person, the person making the booking should ensure that the participant is aware that their personal information is being provided to NSPAC for the purpose of administering and delivering the course.
